Found cracked egg, fetus came out. How do we help the fetus survive?

We put him/her in a box in the sun to help it stay warm.
Answers:
The sun will only fry the fetus! do not expose it to the sun's rays!

If you really care about it enough, go to your local vets and ask about incubators, but really, unless the bird was suppose to hatch soon to when it's egg was opened, it will probably die.
Look in your area for a wildlife rescue. They have the proper knowledge to help the fetus survive. Call your local Animal Control or SPCA and ask if they have a listing for someone.Or call your veterinarian, they may have a listing or may be able to help. Don't try to raise it yourself, wildlife is very hard to raise, just make sure to keep it warm (not too warm) until you can find someone to help. Good Luck!
If there is any body heat, keep the animal in a hot container with some leather, feathers and some cushion of cloth, hope its wake and feed it with small chunks of seeds and pounced meat. If the little fellow makes it after three hours it shall have strong chances of surviving its first weeks. Long enough.
Get some Insure (old persons drink) and a temp gage. Heat (small amount up to 2cc) to about 103 degrees (put in a small glass and then put the glass inside a dish with hot water from your tap), feed it with an eye dropper use about 2cc at a time, feed it every two hours, don't reuse the heated insure. Clean everything after every feeding. And of course call your local animal control officer he/she will know where to take it.
put it in the airing cupboard the heat is constant and that is the important thing at present,,,
You need to find either a wildlife rehabilitator or an avian vet in your area who would be willing to take it on. The vet may charge you, and the rehabilitator may suggest a donation, but that's up to you. The baby will require careful, controlled incubation as well as crop-feeding, which can be as frequently as every 20 minutes for some bird species. It is unlikely that this hatchling will survive, but if you hurry and get it help, it will have at least the best chance you can offer it. Good luck.
