How do i know if my cockatiel eggs are good or bad and is there a way to make a homemade incubator?

my cockatiel just laid two eggs...each a day apart. mother will not set on them. i have put the eggs in a shoe box with paper towels. her first egg which she laid about four months ago was a dud. how can i tell if these eggs are good or bad, and is it possible to make my own incubator, instead of buying one? THANKS IN ADVANCE..
Answers:
take a flashlight and place it on the side of the egg. you will be able to see a shape inside of the egg, that resembles a baby bird. if there is not, it is a dud, but you should still hold on to it just in case it is not a dud, and it was just small or hard to see. also you can lay them like you do with the paper towels, and put a type of heat lamp over it, not so it gets hot, but just so it stays warm. keep it away from drafts, so it does not get cold. hope it works out! i know how exciting it can be to see an egg hatch. it is pretty cool. if you need any more info just ask.
The only way to tell is to crack them open and fry em. Ill have mine over easy, plz.
You could take a wooden box put a lightbulb attached to the inside upper part. Then, you set the eggs on the hay ground , and you will be able to see the red vains, which means a fertile egg(alive), or if it appears to be dark and show no veins, then your eggs may be "INfertile" your incubator will do it for the eggs.
