How do i get a parakeet back in its cage?

I found this parakeet a week ago, and ive been trying for an hour to get him back in the cage. Whenever he gets on my hand hell bite at my fingers and fly right off. ive tried talking, whistling etc but he just flys away!
i really need to leave, should i just let him sit up there? (window sill)

If you can make the room very dark ( birds won't fly in the dark) or wait til it is dark..all lights off a small flashlite across the room from the bird should give you enough lite to bve able to scoop him up ( yes, do wear gloves but don't squeeze to tight.
For now let him sit. Take away food and when you get home put the food in the cage and wait til it gets hungry. Sorry, that's all I can think of right now.
Wait until it's dark. He'll perch then and shouldn't fly. Find him with a flashlight, toss a light towel over him, scoop him up and bung him back in his cage.
hit it with something, preferrably a bat. pick his *** up, then throw him in.
If you can get near it, throw a light-weight sheet or towel over the bird... then scoop up the bird while it's covered up and put it back in the cage.
here`s what I did I have four finches, scared to death when he got out because they are so small as are parakeets. wait till he goes back to his cage don`t yell, pull yourself together and wait. I use a light sheet and throw it over the cage, if you approach w/caution and you him hard got him try to look under the sheet, u can see him and grasp him into your hand VERY LIGHTLY, don`t ever grab him hard he`ll be very scared hold him lightlyw/sheet over him or not if you`re holding him safely move him to the cage doo, put him in and close the cage door, don`t get scared if he flutters around remember he`s very delicate and he`s trusting you w/his life.
Get a kitchen glove of light color and try again. Leaving him/her loose may cause harm to the bird and the house if it chews into an electric cord.
SET FOOD DOWN ON A TABLE AND WHEN HE GOES TO EAT IT PUT A BOX OVER IT.
