How can you stop a rooster from singing?

Answers:
A rooster crows for a variety of reasons, but mostly to state that this is HIS territory. Short of getting rid of him or keeping him in a dark place, that's just what roosters do.

Hello, yes you can cut off it's head, but trying to get them to stop crowing, which is their nature, is like asking a HUMAN to not eat ;)..Take Care :)
learn to enjoy it.
do you mean besides putting it in oven? start singing with it and enjoy the music.

I use to raise chickens. at one time i had fifteen roosters and about sixty hens. you are not going to stop them unless you keep them in the dark.
shoot it
duct tape but thats cruelty to animals
Get the hens to give it a good talking to - tell them to say how awful the porr fella's voice is, and how they would just love to do anything for him but the crowing puts them off so!
The only way we got ours to shut up was to chop its head off.
Make sure the rooster is living far enough out enough in the country where he "****-a-doodle-do" all he wants at the top of his lungs!!! And the neighbors won't hear him.

But seriously, you may want to try covering the cage at night so that at the crack of dawn when the sun rises, he won't rise to the occasion and "go to town"!

I actually have a rooster in my neighborhood and it really doesn't bother me. However my parrot has begun to mimic it's call!

Most birds "come alive" as soon as they bright light.
I have a parrot that I swear I can walk in the room in the middle of the night, and quickly turn on a bright light, and he instantly thinks it's morning and time to get up and hollar!

P.S. Why do people like "Jennifer" above my answer and others have to be so cruel and inhumane to birds with their answers? Why are you all even in this category to begin with if you don't like nor care for birds? You are offensive to other viewers, especially to the person who asked this question to begin with.
