i want to trap wild birds in my backyard what traps can i make that are cheap and easy?????? any ideas

i dunno if this is a genuine question? my dad used to make a little "trap" when we were little so we could see some wild birds and learn about them (but not hold them or scare them) then we would let them go but i'm not going to tell you how because i dunno why you want to trap them! you might be a psyco or u could just want to do it to show and teach ya kids but either way i'm not gonna tell you just incase!

Why do you wanna trap wild birds?? They're not meant for captivity...just go to the pet store and get a canary or something...
im not sure of any bird trappers for sale anywhere.. look of ebay/google/amazon, etc. any sights that might sell stuff.

i think your the wild one that needs to be trapped
go outside with a net and hide in the bushes, then chuck some bread out and wait. as soon as a small collective of birds start to gather in your garden dive out and try to catch them in the net. i dought very much if this crazy plan will work but why would you want to catch wild birds anyway?

We used to use milk crates. Just put some corn or seeds on the ground and prop a milkcrate up on a stick. Tie a string to the stick and wait. Pull the string when a bird gets under there.
ps-Wild birds don't like getting caught. Beaks and claws suck.

i think you get it from all the answers above, but technically if an animal is wild .it is meant to stay wild, unless you have a exotic animal licence, which in your case i doubt if you can get one
Wild birds belong in the Wild if you trap them they will die so is better to live them be in their habitat

trapping any wild bird is against the law. You can be fined or imprisoned. Leave wild birds alone.
I know in some states, and farm locations they have bird traps just for RELOCATING them. Like sparrows, they breed real fast and on a farm they become a nuisance. So farmers trap them, then RELOCATE them, do to them damaging their feilds and such. BUT if your just trapping them to do ugly things to them then your procreation rights should be taken away along with your freedom.
