When we cover our birds to go up to their perches at night the family does make some noise in that area, since the birds are in the dinning room area of the apartment. The breeder who rared my Conure said he was used to noises and that going up to his perch was the aim of covering the cage. All oppions welcomed. I can not find a source for answers.
thanks you Ronnie

Its hard when they are in the area where the activity is at night. You do the right thing by covering the cage. The fact that he was used to noise before is helpful. As long as you dim the lights and dont make too much noise and someone isn't up all the time, he should be fine.It does say that birds should have 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep per night, but like people not every bird requires this. They also do take naps during the day (which is something we all wouldn't mind doing sometimes) so that helps. If you think its too noisy and you think he isn't getting enough sleep, you can always get a small cage just for sleeping and put him in a room that's quiet, like a bedroom.Hope this helps you!
I'm sure it doesn't mind it too much...after all, it would get peace and quiet during the night while everyone is asleep.
They adapt/adjust to "family noise". Shouldn't be a problem.
They hear well and can't sleep well in a noisy area or a lit area. They may get used to it,but it will shorten their lives.
