This is a good site to ask bird questions and such. These folks LOVE their birds! it's good of you to care enough for the parrot to want it to have a good happy home. So many are left sitting around like decorative ornaments...so sad!

There are places that train parrots to survive in nature, after having been born in captivity. First they teach them to eat food from the area, and introduce them to other parrots. They allow them to roam free and at first the parrots always come back for the food. When they are ready, they let them join a flock that is in the area. I did that with my parrot. They have wings - they should use them.
